I'm 9 long days overdue. I had a doctor's appointment today. They did a nonstress test, which was just monitoring Q and my uterus. Quentin is fine, surprisingly super active for being in the uterus for almost 42 weeks.
But, unfortunately not one contraction. They checked my cervix again, and wouldn't you know it, still 1 cm dilated. My doc then started stripping my membranes. HOLY FREAKING FRICK. That hurt! I started cramping immediately and bleeding. Which is normal. But the good news is I dilated to 2 cm then. Holla!
We scheduled our inducement on the 28th at 8:30 am. I go to the hospital the night before to get ... THE FOLEY BULB. Apparently I'm having no contractions, which is why I'm not dilating. So the foley bulb will force me open. . . Yay.
Just dealing with cramps and stuff. Hoping it'll happen this weekend. Tonight would be best, but it's really comforting having a date. It totally put my mind at ease.
I love the last picture- it's like you're hating it all, but couldn't help but smile :) Not much longer! Do something these next few days that you won't get to do once you have a little one attached to your boob all the time!
ReplyDeletePoor you! I'd be screaming for a c-section by now!!!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how big your belly is! I hope you have a speedy, calm delivery. <3 Best wishes for your little family.
ReplyDeleteOh my! I only went 2 days past my due date...I cannot imagine two weeks. Just goes to show babies will come when they damn well please. Take it easy this weekend and enjoy these last child-free days. Nothing will ever be the same! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteHaving your membranes stripped is the worst!!! I'm thinkin about you and can't wait for you to meet Mr Q. It'll be soon! Promise! Hang in there.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for you to have Q in your arms and to not be so freakin' uncomfortable. I can't imagine. Just look forward to Wednesday and hope he makes his way out before then. You're going to do awesome.
ReplyDeleteSam, I'm a new reader but I wish you the best and I hope you have your little boy in your arms soon. The post your sister put up today touched me; your boy is coming into a very loving family.
ReplyDeleteGood luck girl!! I am so excited for you and so thankful your doctors have allowed you to go over 40 weeks!! Hopefully you don't have to get induced! Come on baby Q!! Come out! :-)
ReplyDeleteGood luck!!! I hope labor happens very soon for you! I can't imagine how uncomfortable and anxious you are! I'm 36 weeks now and feeling mega uncomfortable lol. But I'll only go til October 5th {scheduled section}. Can't wait to read about the birth story and see pictures of baby Q!!!
ReplyDeletei know how you feel. i begged to be induced with Elijah and they finally gave in. i actually wasn't even past due, i was just so miserable i sat and cried all day long. hang in there!
ReplyDeleteBest of luck to you! Many blessings for your {hopefully soon!} new arrival.
ReplyDeletebest of luck!! can't wait to see him!
ReplyDeleteGood luck Sam!
ReplyDeleteYay! You'll do great! God Bless ! Can't wait to "meet" him! :)
ReplyDeleteYay! I've been following your blog for forever and HAD to come out of the woodwork to say good luck!!! I'm betting you will be a great mom! I'm going to tell you the one thing that I wish someone had told me: for the first day or two, although we were crazy in love with our little guy, things changed so fast and so drastically that my hubby and I almost felt like we made a mistake and wanted to go back to the way things were - this is totally normal! Quentin will become your new normal and soon you won't be able to imagine life without him. So excited for you, can't wait to hear all about Q's arrival!!
ReplyDeleteohhhh Q so stubborn! Good luck momma I cant wait for him to get here!
ReplyDeleteHittin' you up from Jess' blog :)
ReplyDeleteYou are doing a GREAT work growing that baby in there!!! I am sure you will be a super star in labor!!! That baby boy will be here before you know it :) (which doesn't really make you feel any better in your current state...haha) Here's to hoping you have a natural, uncomplicated labor/delivery! From what I can tell (which really isn't much but I'll take your sister's word for it), you will be a great mom and you have one blessed little boy coming into this world very, VERY soon!!!btw- You look beautiful... even if you don't feel like you do!
Stripping your membranes sounds so funny huh!? I couldn't imagine how it must feel but knowing what it is makes me never want to experience it. I hope that you don't go as long as the 28. Hopefully you'll just go into labor tonight and not have to wait until your induction. I love you girl!! You are already such a good mama, and I can't wait for little Q to make his appearance. I feel like you are my sister or something, like I am so damn excited for his birth you don't even know. (well i'm sure your more excited) I'm glad you were able to get some good rest last night. Your attitude amazes me, seriously. Happy contracting dear, hopefully tomorrow will bring on some exciting news! <3
ReplyDeletethis is such good advice! we felt the same way.
ReplyDeleteOoooooh goodness. I am 35 weeks, and cannot imagine going over my due date. My feet are swollen, my back and ribs hurt (our little girl's foot is stuck in between them and they are bruised!) and I can hardly move. So...at almost 42 weeks, I cannot even begin to fathom how you are feeling. Just this morning, my husband and I were talking about how I would never be able to make it that far. Obviously, I will if I have to, but man oh man, I feel your pain love. I wish and hope that you bring yourself into labor...and SOON !!!!

ReplyDeleteStay Strong! You go girl!
ReplyDeletei can't wait to see him sam!!!
ReplyDeletebeing very overdue and all, you seem to be handling everything so well--i'm so impressed by you! my only advice to you is to drop whatever you're doing (cleaning/nesting, errands, whatever) and SLEEP!! rest now or forever hold your peace after that newborn comes into your life ;) best of luck with these next few days!
